Manual Handling Awareness

A half-day course covering how to carry out moving and handling safely to prevent the risk of injuries.

Our Manual Handling Awareness course is three hours long.  Following the course, participants will recieve a three year qualification.
What will I learn?
  • Understand legal requirements placed on employers with regard to Manual Handling
  • Understand the mechanisms of musculo-skeletal injuries
  • Recognise common types of Manual Handling injuries
  • Identify control measures to reduce risk of injury from handling of items
  • Be able to apply safer handling techniques in everyday tasks
  • Hands-on practical learning
Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for anybody who is involved in moving objects – this includes lifting, pulling, supporting, carrying, pushing or any movement of an object.

This course is a hands on course, please call us to discuss any amendments which maybe required as we can tailor it to meet your needs.

What will I get from the Manual Handling Awareness course?

Following the half day course, you will receive a qualification in Manual Handling Awareness which is valid for 3 years. To renew the qualification, the three hour course must be taken again.

You will be entitled to access further support and online resources from WorkSafe’s website.
