FIRST AID & CARE

We offer face-to-face courses in First Aid & Emergency First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid and Moving & Handling People. All our courses are held at our premises in Beccles, or alternatively we have the flexibility to come to you to provide first aid training. Our first aid training courses can be tailored to suit your needs or your business.

Alongside our family care business, our background in homecare has provided us with a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the requirement for practical first aid training and hands on courses in the moving and handling of people. All of our courses can be tailored to your needs in terms of timings, quantity of staff in attendance and location.

Our trainer, Mike White, has years of experience as a lifeguard, swimming instructor and a running coach as well as being qualified in first aid training and moving and handling of people. Mike hopes to be able to provide more training courses in the future so watch this space!

We are accredited with Worksafe Training Solutions, which ensures all our courses are meeting the legal requirements and provides peace of mind to ensure that all staff are meeting current guidelines and regulations.

Emergency First Aid at Work

A one day course covering the basics of first aid in an emergency situation

First Aid at Work

A 3-day course covering the practical skills needed by First Aiders in most workplaces.

Emergency First Aid at Work + Forestry

One day first aid course specialising in forestry work.

Moving and Handling of People

Covering Moving and Handling of People within a Health and Social Care setting.

Manual Handling Awareness

Following the half day course, you will receive a qualification in Manual Handling Awareness which is valid for 3 years.

Paediatrics First Aid

Meets the requirements of the Ofsted Early Years and Childcare Register.

ABOUT US…

Training For Skills is a family-run company, with the ambition to provide the highest quality training in First Aid and Moving & Handling of people.

After many years of co-directing a Home Care company, Mike decided to follow his passion for training, specialising in (but not limited to) the Healthcare industry. Having worked in the care sector for many years, Mike found that training for healthcare workers was not always tailored to the industry as it should be. It was often found that the trainers teaching the courses had little or no genuine experience in the sector.

In 2019 Mike trained to a ‘Worksafe’ high standard to be able to provide knowledgeable and safe training to his team of Care Workers. Mike soon found his passion for training and decided to branch off from his office job and pursue his career in teaching individuals and businesses around Norfolk and Suffolk.

Let me tell you about this incredible first aid training I attended recently! It was absolutely top-notch from start to finish. The instructor was incredibly knowledgeable and experienced in the field of first aid. They had a great way of explaining things and made the whole training interactive and engaging. We covered a wide range of topics, including CPR, recovery positions, wound care, and handling medical emergencies.
